Each summer, teams from United States and Canada visit camps in the St. Petersburg region. These summer camps (previously Soviet Pioneer camps) are now private camps which welcome our teams. Often the teams work with orphans in the camps, staying with the children for two weeks at at time. The teams bring humanitarian aid and supplies, and participate in the camping program at the invitation of the camp director and counselors.
Each team brings its own strengths to the work -- some focus on sports programs, some on arts and crafts, some on music, etc. The common element is the intention to build relationships with the children, and within the context of these friendships to express love, acceptance and faith.
